OUR CSA PROGRAM
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)
From running a store to running a farm, we have come full
circle. Our desire has always been to supply you with an
abundant harvest of the freshest organically-grown
produce that you can buy locally.
To do that, and return to our roots, we are changing to a
kind of farming called Community Supported Agriculture
(also known as CSA.)
As a subscriber and member of our CSA, you can be
assured that you'll receive 30 weeks of fresh-harvest
vegetables and spices throughout the growing seasons
of the year.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of a Garden Harvests CSA share is $600 per
year, divided into four (4) payments of $150 each due
on January 15th, April 15th, July 15th, and October 15th.
The average cost for a family or couple buying a share in
the CSA is $20 per week to receive fresh-harvest local
produce during the growing seasons.
We are now taking subscriptions for 40 memberships in
our CSA for the year 2010. Sign up now and you will be
guaranteed a weekly box of naturally-grown fresh
produce every Saturday during the harvest months.
You will become our partner in good eating.
WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?
As a CSA member, you will receive, on average, a box of
6 to 8 different types of vegetables and herbs each week.
Garden Harvests plants a wide variety of produce every
season; however, the exact vegetables you will get are
often dependent on the cooperation of the weather and
sometimes the bugs. Even so, you are guaranteed to
receive an excellent selection each week during harvest
seasons.
WHY DO I PAY UP FRONT?
You work with us in the growing and harvesting of really
healthy foods for you and your family. Essentially, we do
all the work to get the food to your kitchen, and you sit
down at the table to eat it! The membership fee helps
cover operation costs for seed, organic fertilizers, fuel,
equipment, labor, irrigation, supplies, and so on. We plan
and work throughout the year to provide our members
with equal shares of produce on a weekly basis.
Our membership roster is full for 2010. However, in the event one of our members cancels at the end of a growing season (for instance, moves out of the local area), then you can have the opportunity to join during the year. Just click here to join our waiting list. This will also give you the chance to join our current members for "first-in-line" priority to sign up for full membership during the period of expanded enrollment for the year 2011.
