CSA
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is for
those committed members who pay a seasonal
membership fee up front for a weekly supply of
fresh harvest produce from our farm.
This helps cover our operational costs for seed,
organic fertilizers, fuel, equipment, labor,
greenhouse supplies, and so on. We plan and
work throughout the year to provide our members
with an equal share of produce on a weekly basis
during harvest times.
Your share of produce is available for pick-up every
week during the separate growing seasons. There
are some breaks in delivery during the summer and
late winter for field prep and planting for the next
harvest.
Our goal is to provide you with a total of 12 weeks
of fresh produce during the Spring/Summer harvest
season, and 8 weeks of fresh produce during the
Fall/Winter harvest season.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
Each full share will generally provide sufficient
veggies for a family of 4 or 5 people to add to
weekly meals.
Some couples without children often choose to
partner with and split the cost of their full-share
box with another couple or a single person. If
you have a very large family, you may want to
purchase two shares to double up on produce
each week. If you are on a restricted diet that
requires veggies at every meal each day of
the week, you may want to purchase two
memberships for that special need.
The cost of each full share will be $340 for the
Spring/Summer membership. This will be a single
payment due on or before on February 1, 2012.
DEFINITION OF "CSA"
CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture." Essentially this is part of a nationwide movement linking local
consumers and farmers into communities. A typical CSA consists of consumer shareholders who pay a sum in
advance in exchange for a regular selection of in-season crops produced by a farm. The Garden Harvests Farm CSA
will commit to grow exceptionally high-quality vegetables and herbs, providing a bountiful portion of it to you every
weeks of the growing seasons during the length of your seasonal membership.
THE GROWING SEASONS FOR THE CSA
Our goal is to provide a scheduled number of
weeks of seasonal produce for you during each
major growing season. The seasons are:
- Spring/Summer (12 weeks):
March, April, May, June, July
- Late Summer Break: The farm takes a 6-8
week break every year depending upon the
weather. We take this time to prepare the
fields and re-plant for the Fall.
- Fall/Winter (8 weeks):
The schedule for Fall/Winter is pending.
